He's back!

Aiden is back! He had been with his dad the last 3 weeks, and he came home to me last night. I can't believe the relief that washes over me when I get that lil' guy back in my arms! He had a little bit of an issue on the way home. He just seemed overwhelmed and his bottom lip poked out and started to quiver. I had Taylor with me, and she held his hand the whole way home. That definitely made him feel better. Thanks Aunt Tay Tay!

So I got him home and in the tub and ready for bed. He just clung to me the whole night. I let him fall asleep in my bed since I just missed the CRUD out of him. But had to move him to his crib in the night because he's WILD!

We went with Janette's family to Eggworks for breakfast and played at Desert Breeze park before our matinee showing of Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Aiden kept saying, "aww those puppies are sooooo Cuuute!" The people sitting by us would occassionally giggle. He hasn't mastered the "you have to stay quiet" in a movie theater, but he can woof down some popcorn! Good gracious!

Hope you enjoy the pics from today. Aiden is sure getting big! I can't believe how much they can change in just 3 weeks. He's such a loving and friendly guy, it truly is a blessing to have him. :)

Got Big Beats?

I hate to brag (not really), but I have the coolest family EVER!! My cousin Jeff...aka Smooth J, and Grammar G make up the legendary Big Beat Battalion, and they opened for Shiny Toy Guns at the Rio last Thursday night. I rounded up Janette and Taylor, and we headed down to watch the duo (with DJ Cherrybomb) serve up a whopping dose of lyrical genius. I have never doubted Jeff's abilities as a dope emcee, but holy tacos!! I was absolutely blown away! I was dancing like an obsessed groupie (not a big surprise) and would have totally got on stage if it wasn't for the 4 feet deep shrubs all the way around it. They were wildly entertaining, and I can officially say "I'm with the band!" ok not really, but they were great, and I heard lots of people talking about how well the performance was. I was sooo proud! Big props and much respect for the BBB. Check out their myspace, or their website at www.bigbeatbattalion.com. Word.

My hair be bangin'

Ooooooook. So I have been bored with my blondness the last few weeks, and I decided to cut some bangs. Yikes! Still trying to get used to em...just cut em this morning. Ashlee did a great job as usual. I just don't know how I feel about em yet. The last time I had bangs was probably 1990....the "claw" as some might say ;) I remember taking the curling iron and teasing the CRUD out of em and using a grip of hairspray! This time around, we will keep the "claw-ness" to a minimum. Whuddya think?

My Mommy is Married!!

She did it! After 8 years of being single, my mom was able to get re-married! The big day was 8-8-08, and it was a FANTASTIC evening. Mom married Gary Kestler, who is the dad of Kevin and Kurtis. I sang in "Blue Ice" in Jr. High with Kevin. My brother Jordan lives with Kurtis, they've been BFF for a long time, so it's kinda funny how everything worked out. They met in a post office 2 years ago when Gary was picking up the keys to the house he re-bought. It's the house that he had with his first wife, Kathy, who passed from breast cancer about 10 years ago. My mom recognized him, and said something like, "Hey you're Kurtis and Kevin's dad, I'm Jordan Hutchison's mom." He got her digits (pimp) and the rest is history! I couldn't be happier for her. You can see a difference in her, she's found her perfect mate. Congrats Deena and Gary!

Bryce Canyon

Jeez...I need to get with it and post more! There's been a lot happening 'round here, and if I don't hurry, I'm going to forget it all! The first weekend of August, we went up to Bryce Canyon for a birthday. I can't believe that I was born and raised in Las Vegas, and I had never been to Bryce. Weird?! Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It was breathtaking! We went on a tour of the park, and Aiden LOVED the bus! He's rather fond of the bus driver too :)

It was about a 3-4 hour tour, and it was great! I feel like a learned a lot about the area. My favorite is the "Hoodoos." I thought it was a joke at first, but the rocks that looked all stacked up skinny like they could fall over at any moment, they are really called Hoodoos! Kinda funny. It sounds like that's what I would call someone who was acting like a dork, "You freakin Hoodoo!!" Ha! But seriously, if you have a chance to visit Bryce Canyon, do it. It's worth it :)

Aiden's Return!

Yay! So the little man in my life is home! It was so great to hear his voice as he came up the steps to the front door of the house. I could hear him talking about "Magga" (my mom) and Tucker (the dog). My tummy did about 16 flips and then I opened the door. He politely said, "Hi Mommy, Hi Logan!" It was like he just got home from Wal-Mart or something. :) It's amazing how adaptable children are. I just scooped him up, sat down on the stairs and started crying my eyes out. I almost forgot what it felt like to hold that little guy! His big ol' melon rested on my shoulder and we just sat there for a few moments. It was great!

We have had a few things that have to be reestablished in our routine. He's clearly grown to be the King of the Castle, and needs to be reminded that I'm the mom dang it! That first day with him home was a weird one. Almost like we had to reconnect. He had no problem coming to me and his dad leaving, but it was later when he started to run around like we slipped him crack and started to become defiant. We were like, "who is this kid?!?" It only took a night of good rest and he was pretty much back to normal.

Anyway....we are off to family dinner! We will be back soon!

post much??

Just wanted to say......I think I fell off of the blog bandwagon.....I've been a little "preoccupied" I guess you can say. Aiden leaves to see his dad in SC next Saturday, so I think I will have a little more time on my hands to do stuff like this. :) He'll be gone for SIX weeks......any suggestions on what the heck I should do with myself besides want to fall apart?!? I am going on a trip for about 8 days of that.....but that's just it....only EIGHT days. I wish I could just be gone the whole time, but that just isn't possible. :( Anyway, I'll post more stuff soon....promise!

memory stick madness

I'm having a bit of an issue with my memory stick on my camera....sometimes it works....sometimes it doesn't.....it has a mind of it's own. Sometimes I will take pictures and it "looks" like it worked, but when I go back to review them....all I get is a blue screen. ANNOYING! So for all you people that are obsessed with Aiden and I, as well as our blog (just kidding) this is why there are no pics posted since Easter. I know that when I go and read someones blog, my favorite part is seeing the pictures. Seeing how everyone's family is growing, changing, what adventures they have been on is my absolute favorite. I HAVE to get a new stick this week, it's a must. Who knows who really cares about what pics I post and when, but I do. :) But, whenever I am at the store, I am so focused on getting out of there before Aiden gets rowdy that I forget! I'm usually yaking on the phone too so that doesn't help my concentration...surprise surprise! I have a few other errands to run....wedding gift....top secret birthday stuff...blue handbag hunt...etc. Those are all FUN things on my to-do list, but still things nonetheless. Looks like I should leave Aiden with Magga and get to it!

Babysitters anyone?!?

How annoying is it to have your sisters make plans without you to go to dinner and a movie and then they say, "Ohh...I wish you had a babysitter....we're going out." EWWWWW!!! Hello! YOU are my babysitters you bratfaces! Actually, I'm not that annoyed at them. I mean....my social life is rockin. My nights consist of doing dinner, giving Aiden a bath, making "baba nooks" (milk in a sippy), and watching Rocket (Little Einsteins), Veggie Tales, or Backyardigans until I can't stand it anymore and Aiden falls asleep. Yep..that's the nuts and bolts of it....7 nights a week almost. Occasionally, we change it up, like have tickle wars, or tonight, for example we sung "Popcorn Popping" about 25 times in a row because Aiden likes to "pop" his hands like it's popcorn and do the other actions. He kept laughing and saying, "again again!" Too cute. He's ready for primary! Things like that make me never care if I "go out." So there. Go to your movie and dinner. You're missing out! :)

Easter and other tid bits of life

It has been a month since I have posted anything on here. Yikes! Time flies when you're busy. Anyway, much has been going on here, and at the end of everyday I just want to freakin RELAX! But in all honesty, I think I thrive in chaos. What else would I have to complain about right? Aiden had his second birthday on March 19th, and had a good day. We didn't do a party this year since life is well.....a bit crazy if you will. But, Aiden had a great time that night. We took him to Chuck E. Cheese for pizza and rides, (he loves riding in the cars over and over and over). It was just Aiden, Magga (my mom), myself and Logan and her BFF Alena. It was low key, which was definitely welcomed. Aiden received lots of gifts this year. His favorites were his new "rocket" videos, Backyardigans boat and his "Twuck." He is the proud owner of a Power Wheels F-150, complete with wood grain stickers! Where were these when I turned two....sheesh! He's really starting to act like a two year old that's for sure. Gotta love the ability he has to go from sweet to BEAST in less than 2 seconds! I know it's only the beginning...so I better get ready :)

I finally started working for real last month. I am back at Compliance Alliance with Tracy, managing all of the dental compliance programs. It's been fun to be back, but still an adjustment nonetheless. At least Aiden loves daycare now. His teacher is Mrs. Cathy, and Aiden calls her "Faffy." I took him in the other morning, and she was out in the front office. He saw her and went running over to her to pick him up. That makes leaving him there all day so much easier! They give each other kisses now, and Aiden wakes up some mornings talking about Faffy and starts singing a good morning song they do at school. Too cute. That kid loves his songs and loves signing. If the volume in the car is too low...you'll hear him in the back yelling, "a song! a song!" I have brainwashed him into loving Rascal Flatts, and he loves to sing "Broken Road." It's too funny!

Easter was nice, and I will post pics with this post. Aiden really got into the egg hunt, and once he figured there was candy in his eggs.....he sat by the pool and got to it! Boy after my own heart I swear! It was a great day..the weather was beautiful and we enjoyed being together as a family.

Taylor's Bridal Shower

Today my mom and I got gussied up and hit up Spanish Trail for Taylor Houston's bridal shower. For those of you who didn't know, Taylor is marrying Garhett Miller on April 11th. I am SO HAPPY FOR HER! She looked absolutely beautiful, and the shower was just perfect. I haven't been to Spanish Trail in a LONG time. They did something like 17 million in renovations to the country club, and you could definitely see the fruits of that labor. I just kept telling my mom, "this is so beautiful!" The food was rediculous, and we all started on the chocolate fountain before we got our "real" lunch. Why are chocolate fountians so addicting?? I had to stop, I am starting to feel like myself again weight wise, and that stupid fountian was NOT HELPING!!! After two rounds of that, bruschetta, diet coke, stuffed mushrooms, THEN my sandwich complete with sweet potato fries, I decided that i would definitely be in trouble later. :) We watched Tay open presents, and then we had to jet to get Aiden and Logan (surprise surprise), and I totally missed meeting with Angela to try on wedding dresses. Ugh, that was the other thing I REALLY wanted to do today. That was a big bummer. Hopefully I can meet with her soon, and she can finish up the planning for her wedding bash this October. It looks like this is going to be year for weddings! It's so great to see great girls marry such great guys. All this happiness and events and showers and chocolate fountians make we wanna plan a wedding! It's so much work, but the turn out is definitely worth it! Anyway, before I keep babbling, I will post this and throw up some pics from today....
